Hello, my name is Julia. I’m the person behind the camera and the owner of Julia Horrocks Photography, specialising in fine art maternity, newborn and family photography.
My family relocated to Manchester, UK all the way from New York, USA. I’m also a mama of a cheeky boy who is the first reason of my family’s big move – so that we all could be closer to both our families in the UK and Europe. We also had our baby girl not long ago so now I'm a mama of two.
The second reason is my forever dream of owning a photo studio where I could invite local families to create meaningful images together. This dream came true and now I’m the owner of Julia Horrocks Studio located in Monton, the only family photo studio in Manchester where you can get timeless family portraits captured on film.
I believe in quality in moments over quantity, which is why most of my work is shot on film. Film provides character in a photograph that to me can't be replaced with digital. The beauty outweighs the extra cost.
I believe that photography is meant to be tangible. That our photographs are meant to be printed. Shared. Cherished. That our memories shouldn’t live on hard drives and be forgotten about.
The ability to witness and capture your family's love and growth is priceless, and creating artwork, not mere pictures, is my passion and priority.
